Nestled within the heart of the city, the Josephine Butler Parks Center proved once again why it is amongst some of the most sought-after wedding venues. From the breathtaking historic edifice to the spacious multi-tiered interiors and the picturesque terrace, it offers an ensemble of backdrops, each more captivating than the last.


As we walked through the venue, it was evident that every corner told a story. The grandeur of the building speaks of days gone by, yet its elegant charm resonates perfectly with modern love stories. The cocktail hour and dinner setting spanned across multiple levels, allowing guests to mingle, dine, and enjoy the festivities in a seamless flow.

The Bridal Party


Franny and Alec, the stunning couple of the evening, were an absolute delight to work with. Their love story radiated through every moment, from tender glances to the joyous laughter shared. And while we were slightly taken aback with a dash of rain towards the end of the evening, it only added to the romance of the day. After all, there's something quite poetic about two people promising to weather all storms together.


The grounds of the Josephine Butler Parks Center, along with the adjacent park, presented us with countless photo opportunities. From the majestic interiors of the venue to the alluring iron arches in the neighboring park, we were spoilt for choice. Franny and Alec's moments with themselves and their bridal party created memories they will cherish for a lifetime.

The Josephine Butler Center's Features


The Josephine Butler Center, the chosen venue for Alec and Franny's wedding, boasts a grandeur that befits its storied past. Once the Embassy of both Hungary and Brazil, this 18,000-square foot, 40-room marvel is a masterpiece created by the renowned architect, George Oakley Totten Jr. His legacy touches many corners of the city, having crafted over a dozen embassy structures, and prominently shaping the historic landscape around Meridian Hill.


For Alec and Franny's special day, guests will be mesmerized by the Josephine Butler Center's meticulously restored facade that now gleams with renewed vigor. Inside, the interiors have been contemporarily modified without compromising the building's original charm. Among its array of amenities are a versatile event facility, an art exhibition space, a visitor hub, a media room, and provisions for an after-school initiative. The center further supports community empowerment with a park revitalization unit, a job referral service, a culinary teaching arena, and a loft dedicated to nurturing non-profit ventures. Current restoration efforts are underway, reviving the building's ornate elements like terrazzo, marble, and oak parquet finishes. In tandem, new heating and cooling installations, enhanced lighting, and landscaped exteriors promise to provide guests with an unparalleled experience.
